The rich young ruler seemed to have it all. He had money. He had position. He knew the Scriptures. Now he sees what Jesus is like, and despite knowing and obeying the law, he feels his lack. But he is thinking about eternal life from the wrong perspective. It is not about getting. It is all about giving.  We can’t let anything other than Jesus become our Lord and Master. Whose kingdom are you building?

He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justly,
To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8
