A Man Born Blind…A Journey of Faith
The man answered and said to them, “Why, this is a marvelous thing, that you do not know where He is from; yet He has opened my eyes! Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him. John 9:30-31
The blind man didn’t even know who Jesus was, so he didn’t have a lot to tell. All he knew was what Jesus had done for him. He had been born blind. Now he could see. The pharisees were trying to tell him that because he had been healed on the Sabbath, the man who healed him was a sinner. But how could that be? How could someone that was not from God do something that no man had ever done before.
Every time the once blind man shared his story, his faith in Jesus grew. When he finally met Jesus face to face he said, “Lord, I believe!” and he worshiped Him. As we tell our story of how we met Jesus and how we know He is real, our faith will also grow. All we need to say is “Lord, I believe” and Jesus will open our eyes so that we will no longer be spiritually blind.
“The prayer of faith is the key that unlocks the treasury of heaven. As we commit our souls to God, let us remember that He holds Himself responsible to hear and answer our supplications. He invites us to come to Him, and He bestows on us His best and choicest gifts—gifts that will supply our great need. He loves to help us. Let us trust in His wisdom and His power. O what faith we should have! O what peace and comfort we should enjoy! Open your heart to the Spirit of God. Then the Lord will work through you and bless your labors.” —E G White – Manuscript Releases, vol. 8, 196.
