A Change in{g} Heart
Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Psalm 51:10
When our sinful hearts take us away from God, it is only God that can bring us back to Him. Even though sin manifests itself in our words and actions, it starts in our heart. Our sins come from the very core of who were are. God wants us to search our hearts and to see for ourselves how far we have strayed. But it doesn’t end there. Jesus came to earth and died. He would have died if only one person ever chose to follow Him.
We are now living in the time of the last days. The church of Laodicea was noted for having no insight into their condition. They were warm, comfortable, and stagnant. But God doesn’t want us to be comfortable. He wants us to be willing to do anything for Him because of our love for Him. If we give our hearts every day to Him, He will be able to change it and help us grow in His image. He wants to give each of us a new heart.
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:1,2
