Ask the Blind Man – He Saw it All
So Jesus answered and said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?”
The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.”
Mark 10:51
Miracles are not rational. In our day and age, science is thought to have the answer to everything. All truth can be observed, tested and verified. It is argued that the idea of miracles is an offence both to our reason and to our dignity. Therefore, miracles don’t and can’t happen.
However, miracles are in the realm of faith, the realm of the divine. They are not easy to explain to unbelievers. When Jesus gave the blind beggar back his sight, the first thing the man did was follow Jesus. It was his only chance to be healed, and he did not let Jesus pass him by.
We may not be blind physically, but we are all blind spiritually. Just like the blind man, it is only Jesus who can give us the insight to see ourselves as we really are. The greatest miracle of all is the change that Jesus makes in our lives when we accept Him as our savior.
