Knowing God’s Love
And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. John 17:3
God knows everything about us, but how well do we know God? We may know lots of Bible stories about Jesus. We may know lots of facts about God. We may even have seen miracles in the lives of those we know. But really knowing God requires more than these. God sent Jesus to this earth to die to save us, but He also sent Him so we could see what God is really like. Really knowing God means we can see what God has done for us, to change us. The main way he changes us is to enable us to love others in the same way he loves us.
We need faith in Christ’s saving grace for us. We need hope in the second coming of Jesus. But most of all we need love for one another. It is this love that is our testimony of our faith and hope.
And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13
