How Great is our God
Before they call, I will answer;
And while they are still speaking, I will hear.

Elijah didn’t just need an answer to prayer. He needed a miracle.
Israel were sinking deeper and deeper into apostasy. Their king and queen, Ahab and Jezebel, were setting up idols to Baal all over the country. To catch the attention of the people and their wayward monarchs, God sent a drought. After three years of no rain Elijah presented himself before Ahab and challenged him to a duel. Each side was to build an alter. The God that answered his followers petition with fire would be the true God. The children of Israel encircled the group of prophets, 450 on the side of Baal, and only one on the side of God, watching and waiting to see what would happen.
Rob presented us with evidence of how God has worked in his own and others’ lives and how our God is great enough to trust with any need we may have.
Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench. Now when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces; and they said, “The Lord, He is God! The Lord, He is God!” 1 Kings 18:36,37
