Proving the Credibility of God – Part 2
He shall speak pompous words against the Most High,
Shall persecute[j] the saints of the Most High,
And shall intend to change times and law.
Then the saints shall be given into his hand
For a time and times and half a time.
‘But the court shall be seated,
And they shall take away his dominion,
To consume and destroy it forever.
Daniel 7:25-26
The fourth beast of Daniel’s dream was a terrifying monster, its huge iron teeth devouring everything under and around it. Daniel wasn’t just having a dream; he was having a nightmare. But God didn’t leave Daniel with just the memory of the horrifying beast. Instead, Daniel was then shown a picture of God. The terrible and dreadful fourth beast wanted to be God, but this would never happen. It would be eventually be destroyed. God wanted Daniel to know that there is a purpose for our existence. God has his hand over the future of the world and God has his hand over the future of each one of us.
“I was watching in the night visions,
And behold, One like the Son of Man,
Coming with the clouds of heaven!
He came to the Ancient of Days,
And they brought Him near before Him.
Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom,
That all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him.
His dominion is an everlasting dominion,
Which shall not pass away,
And His kingdom the one
Which shall not be destroyed.
Daniel 7:13-14
