Why is this night different from all other nights?

Therefore say to the children of Israel: ‘I am the Lord; I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, I will rescue you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments. Exodus 6:6

God was aware of the sufferings of Israel while slaves in Egypt. On the night of the Passover those who had painted the lintels of their door posts with blood were delivered. God is also on a mission to rescue and redeem each of us. We are living in a moment in this earth’s history where we each have to choose if we will align ourselves with God or separate ourselves from Him. We need to be alert and we need to be ready. We need to remind ourselves of the bitterness of slavery and sin, but we also must not forget the joy that awaits us.

Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people— saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.” Revelation 14:6,7
